The talent agency 935 Entertainment, home to actors like Namkoong Min and Park Ju-hyun, has issued a warning about scam artists impersonating managers.
On the 9th, 935 Entertainment released a statement saying, "We've confirmed cases where individuals impersonating celebrities' managers approached small businesses, placing large orders at various restaurants and wine merchants under the guise of company dinners, only to result in no-shows, causing financial harm." The statement further clarified, "Our employees and associates never request money transfers or the purchase of goods under any circumstances."
They also advised, "Should you receive any similar requests, do not transfer money or respond, and report any incidents to the police immediately. We are aware of the severity of this issue and are committed to preventing similar incidents from occurring."
This is not the first instance of such fraudulent activities. Last month, Mystic Story, the agency of singer Yoon Jong-shin, warned, "We've identified attempts to impersonate our staff, making reservations and ordering expensive food and goods under false pretenses, including forging documents for Yoon Jong-shin's national tour events." They urged caution against these impersonation scams.
