In "Spring of Youth," Park Ji-hoo emerges as a romantic comedy heroine straight out of a comic book.
Airing every Wednesday night at 10:40 PM, starting with special episodes on May 6th (Tuesday) and 7th (Wednesday), SBS's new drama "Spring of Youth" (written by Kim Min-chul, directed by Kim Sung-yong) is a youth music romance that follows the story of 'Sagye,' a star of the top K-pop band group, who gets kicked out of the team and, through twists and turns, starts college life where he fatefully meets 'Kim Bom' and makes a splendid comeback.
Directed by Kim Sung-yong, known for "The Veil" and "My Dearest," and produced by the 'band powerhouse' FNC in collaboration with the 'drama kingdom' SBS, "Spring of Youth" is spotlighted as the one and only 'youth music romance' following the legacy of the 2009 sensation "You're Beautiful." The combination of young actors Ha Yoo-jun, Park Ji-hoo, and Lee Seung-hyub is expected to double the fun of this youth drama with its heart-fluttering charm.
On the 22nd, the team behind "Spring of Youth" unveiled the first look of Park Ji-hoo transforming into her character, Kim Bom. Captured scenes highlight Kim Bom's (played by Park Ji-hoo) spirited, lively, and bold charm. First off, Kim Bom, wearing a white shirt and a pink knit vest, showcases her pure visual dominance on campus with her radiant eyes and clear skin, and as a music prodigy and top graduate of Hanju University's Practical Music department, she shines with concentration while playing the keyboard.
Moreover, Kim Bom, wearing a mascot costume and showing the true face of a 'pro part-timer,' reveals her playful side by taking off the costume and making a cute face. At home, she ties her hair tightly and shows a determined expression, embodying the resilience of a rom-com heroine.
Park Ji-hoo shared, "I got to read the script through a great opportunity and met Bom through a meeting with the director," revealing how she came to join "Spring of Youth." She also expressed her affection for her character, Kim Bom, saying, "She's a musical genius who loves music very, very much. It's heartbreaking to see her struggle to make ends meet by working various part-time jobs every day, but she never gives up and eventually perseveres in a very cool and bold way."
Park Ji-hoo added, "I'm thrilled to greet you with a work that perfectly matches this beautiful season. 'Spring of Youth' is a production where everyone shot happily in a laughter-filled environment, and I sincerely hope that energy of youth reaches the viewers as well."
Lastly, Park Ji-hoo sent a message as a promotional fairy, "I hope you can feel the passion and purity of the characters in 'Spring of Youth,' and share in their warmth and joy. I wish for a spring full of blossoms to come into the lives and hearts of the viewers. Please look forward to it with lots of love and make sure to catch the premiere."
The production team praised, "Park Ji-hoo is an actress with solid acting skills and a delicate expressiveness that breathes life into her character," and encouraged, "Expect a refreshing acting transformation from Park Ji-hoo in 'Spring of Youth,' perfectly suited for her age."
Episodes 1 and 2 of "Spring of Youth" will air consecutively on May 6th (Tuesday) and 7th (Wednesday) at 10:40 PM, followed by weekly broadcasts every Wednesday night at the same time.
