The burglar who broke into comedian Park Na-rae's home and stole valuables worth millions of won has been identified as a 30-something man with no prior connection to her.
On the 14th, a representative from the National Investigation Headquarters of the Korean National Police Agency stated during a regular press briefing that the suspect, who broke into Park Na-rae's residence in Yongsan, Seoul, was a man in his 30s with no previous acquaintance with her. This suspect was also linked to another burglary in Yongsan a few days earlier.
The suspect, identified as Mr. A, allegedly stole valuables worth millions of won from Park Na-rae's home on the 4th. Park Na-rae discovered the theft four days later, on the 8th, and reported it to the police. A police representative mentioned, "Mr. A did not know it was Park's house when he broke in from the outside."
According to the police, Mr. A was also involved in a burglary in Yongsan at the end of March. While tracking Mr. A using CCTV footage, the police confirmed that he was the same person who stole from Park's home and subsequently arrested him.
The investigation revealed that Mr. A acted alone in this crime and had attempted to sell the stolen goods taken from Park Na-rae's residence.
The police plan to investigate any additional crimes committed by Mr. A before forwarding the case to the prosecution next week.
