Actor Lee Jung-jae showcased his entrepreneurial side by presenting a vision for the growth of the entertainment tech industry at the KAIST Forum.

The 9th 'Innovate Korea 2025' was held on December 9 at the Ryu Geun-chul Sports Complex at KAIST in Daejeon, under the theme 'Tech Up the Party!'.

The event was attended by Lee Jung-jae, an actor and director at Artist Company, along with CEO Hwang Kyung-joo. They engaged in a discussion about the potential growth stemming from the fusion of science and the entertainment industry.

Lee Jung-jae was asked whether the integration of AI into the film industry, a hot topic worldwide, is a crisis or an opportunity. He responded, "I can feel the presence of AI in the field, and I see it as an opportunity. If we view AI not as an automation tool but as a partner that expands a creator's imagination, then deciding what stories to tell within the myriad possibilities AI offers is still up to us. The emotional impact is crafted by humans, not algorithms."

In fact, Artist Company announced a partnership with global AI startup Perplexity in January, focusing on launching new AI ventures in the domestic B2B market. Perplexity, which launched an AI search engine service in 2022, has attracted significant investment from companies like NVIDIA and SoftBank, achieving a valuation of $9 billion.

Artist Company has also laid the groundwork as a tech company by operating an advertising platform that utilizes big data and AI, in addition to its management services. This suggests a positive direction for AI's use in future production areas.

Lee Jung-jae expressed his ambitions, saying, "As an actor, I want to continue meeting audiences with new stories and great works, enhancing the value of K-content. As a business leader, I aim to connect technology and content to create a new ecosystem. I hope to grow Artist Company into a global entertainment tech firm with AI-based fandom platforms and interactive content, and be remembered in 10 years as someone who created a new success story by linking technology and content."

Meanwhile, Artist Company held a regular shareholders' meeting on November 28 and decided to change its name from Artist United to Artist Company. This decision was driven by the management's strategy to strengthen the brand's identity centered on content and accelerate its entry into the global market. Through this, Artist Company aims to expand its presence as a talent agency managing over 20 actors, including Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, as well as a production company behind works like the film 'Hunt' and the drama 'The Silent Sea'.
