Rapper NO:EL, whose real name is Jang Yong-jun, shared an update with his fans a week after the passing of his father, Jang Je-won, former conservative politician from the People Power Party.
On April 7, NO:EL posted a photo on social media, showing himself wearing a cap pulled down low. The image revealed a noticeably thinner face, hinting at the emotional struggles he might have been going through.
This post comes after his agency, Indigo Music, announced on April 1 that they would manage all of NO:EL's social media uploads to protect him from the flood of inappropriate comments about his personal life. This makes the recent photo even more significant.
Previously, on April 1, NO:EL communicated with fans in an open chat room, saying, "Of course, it's hard to be okay, but don't worry too much about me. I don't expect anyone to fully understand. I'll make sure to say a proper goodbye. Fortunately, I've experienced a lot at a young age, so I won't crumble because of others. Please don't worry too much."
The late Jang Je-won was found deceased in an officetel in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, on March 31. Prior to his death, he faced allegations of sexual assault causing injury. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit, Jang Je-won was accused of sexually assaulting his secretary, Ms. B, in November 2015, while serving as a vice president at a university.
