Singer and theater actor Tei has clarified his comments made during a live radio broadcast regarding the death of Jang Je-won, former conservative politician from the People Power Party.

On April 1st, during his FM4U show 'Good Morning FM with Tei,' he mentioned the passing of Jang Je-won, expressing that it was a pity. Some listeners responded by saying, "The victim of the sexual assault case is more deserving of sympathy," expressing their disappointment with Tei's remarks.

Addressing the issue on the April 2nd radio broadcast, Tei began by saying, "There were articles about something I said yesterday. I feel I need to clarify my words."

Tei explained, "I wasn't expressing regret over someone's death per se, but rather the situation itself. It was unfortunate that the situation, which involved one-sided announcements for the sake of truth, ended in such a manner."

He further clarified, "I had harsh words and emotions inside me, but I tried to express them in a more neutral way. It wasn't the death itself that I thought was a pity, but the circumstances that resulted from it."

According to police reports on April 1st, Jang Je-won was found deceased at around 11:40 PM the previous night in an officetel in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. A note believed to be written by Jang Je-won was reportedly found at the scene. The police are currently investigating the exact cause of death.

Jang Je-won had been under police investigation for allegations of sexual assault against his secretary, identified as A, dating back to November 2015 when he was a vice president at a university in Busan.
