LARA, a member of the multinational girl group KATSEYE produced by HYBE, has publicly shared her sexual identity with her fans.

On March 24, LARA came out as homosexual on the fan community platform Weverse. She revealed that she first came out to her family, saying, "I was scared. Being a person of color added another layer of fear. But I'm proud of who I am."

She continued, "I'm grateful for the support from the people in my life and my fans. My sexual identity is a part of who I am, and I'm not ashamed of it at all."

Born in 2005, LARA is an Indian-American and serves as the main vocalist of the group. KATSEYE, a six-member group co-produced by HYBE and Geffen Records, made their global debut last year and have been actively promoting since.

Fans have reacted by saying they are "not surprised," because LARA has been open about her identity in her interactions with fans. Some fans have also publicly expressed their support.
