Kim Jong-min of K-pop group Koyote shared the story behind his proposal.
On March 9 episode of KBS' television show "2 Days & 1 Night," Kim Jong-min opened up about proposing to his girlfriend."
While the members of "2 Days & 1 Night" were on their way to the accommodation, Cho Sae-ho brought up about Kim Jong-min's upcoming wedding, saying, "Your wedding's next month, right?"
The show's producer then asked, "Did you propose to her yet?" and Kim Jong-min replied, "Yeah, I did. I rented out a café in Namyangju for it."
When asked how he pulled off the proposal without his girlfriend suspecting anything, Kim Jong-min explained, "I just told my girlfriend we were going out for dinner. I didn't want her to suspect anything, so I even threw her off by saying, 'Let's go on a yacht ride the week after next.'"
He went on, "After dinner, we were sitting in the garden, and I gave her flowers out of nowhere. That's when she started to catch on. Then I walked forward, called her name, and as soon as the lights came on, I said, 'Will you marry me?' and slipped the ring on her finger. I had asked the café to set up the lighting in advance, so everything went really well."
DIN DIN then playfully asked if he cried, and Kim Jong-min admitted, "I almost did. I got choked up but held it in."
Recently-married Cho Sae-ho chimed in, "It's hard not to get emotional during a proposal. I actually cried a ton during mine."
Moon Se Yoon asked Kim Jong-min, "Did your girlfriend cry?" Kim Jong-min responded, "Yeah, a lot. I even read her a handwritten letter. It was the first time I'd ever written one."
Last year, Kim Jong-min revealed he was dating a non-celebrity girlfriend 11 years younger than him.
Kim Jong-min and his fiancée are set to tie the knot on April 20.
