Lotte Cinema will live broadcast the 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Tour Tokyo Series games in theaters.
Last July, Lotte Cinema made headlines by partnering with the sports broadcasting channel SPOTV to conduct the first-ever live theater broadcast of an MLB game in South Korea. Building on that excitement, they will once again showcase the 2025 MLB World Tour Tokyo Series on the big screen.
Lotte Cinema will live broadcast the opening game of the Tokyo Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs, taking place at the Tokyo Dome on March 18-19. Notably, tickets for this game sold out almost instantly, with over 420,000 fans trying to secure a seat as soon as they went on sale.
The theater live broadcast is also expected to generate a strong response from eager fans. The opening game will feature globally recognized players such as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Shota Imangawa, and Seiya Suzuki, promising to create an electrifying atmosphere.
Additionally, there is a possibility that Kim Hye-sung, who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers this season and made his MLB debut, will also participate, making this game even more exciting for Korean fans.
Watching the game at Lotte Cinema, equipped with a large, high-definition screen, immersive sound system, and comfortable seating, will provide fans who can't attend in person with an experience that feels like being at the Tokyo Dome. The biggest appeal of the theater live broadcast is the collective cheering and excitement shared in one space, as Lotte Cinema aims to create a fresh and enjoyable sports viewing culture filled with enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The MLB World Tour Tokyo Series will be screened at 23 locations nationwide, including Lotte Cinema World Tower, Daejeon Central, and Busan Main Branch. For more details and ticket reservations, fans can check the Lotte Cinema website and app.
Kim Se-hwan, head of the X-Con team at Lotte Cultureworks, stated, "Lotte Cinema provides a unique experience by broadcasting various sports events in theaters, helping fans who missed out on attending live games to forget their disappointment. We hope everyone enjoys the MLB Tokyo Series opening game in a comfortable and entertaining way at our theaters."
