[SBS Entertainment News | Kang Sun-ae] SBS's 'Kkokkomu' (short for 'Tails of Tales') is set to unveil the real reason behind the failure of South Korea's nuclear development program.
The episode airing on the 20th, titled 'Top Secret Mission - South Korea's Nuclear Weapon Development Secret Project,' will reveal the behind-the-scenes details of a time when South Korea, under the Park Chung-hee regime in the 1970s, was unable to even produce a single rifle, yet was secretly pursuing nuclear weapon development. The show will also explore the possibility of South Korea possessing nuclear weapons within the next decade.
In this episode, actors Han Chae-ah, Choi Daniel, and model-broadcaster Jung Hyuk will join as listeners to discuss the 'South Korea Nuclear Weapon Development Project,' which felt like a spy movie.
During a previous recording, when Han Chae-ah learned that the topic was about the secret nuclear development project, she exclaimed, "Is it okay to talk about this?" causing a stir. Jung Hyuk also expressed his tension, saying, "Oh, that gave me chills." When Jang Hyun-seong explained the principles of nuclear development, Choi Daniel humorously admitted, "My grades were terrible, but I actually liked science," standing out as the only 'nerd' among the cast, which brought laughter.
Notably, 'Kkokkomu' will raise suspicions about the 'Yellow Envelope,' a classified document related to nuclear weapons that went missing during the transition from the Park Chung-hee regime to the Chun Doo-hwan regime. This document was a compilation of research completed by over 250 scientists who were secretly working on South Korea's nuclear weapon development. The episode will delve into how these scientists disguised their identities to learn advanced nuclear missile technology, memorized development materials, and even managed to smuggle out crucial information just before the project was completed. Viewers will find out the fate of the 'Yellow Envelope' and the secrets it holds in the upcoming broadcast.
The production team of 'Kkokkomu' stated, "This week, we will discuss the secrets hidden in the nuclear development security document 'Yellow Envelope,' which was found alongside cash in President Park Chung-hee's secret vault. It will be a time to reflect on the many scientists who dedicated themselves to our country's nuclear missile development. We hope you look forward to it," they added.
The 'Top Secret Mission - South Korea's Nuclear Weapon Development Secret Project' episode of 'Kkokkomu' will air on the 20th at 10 PM, 20 minutes earlier than usual.
