SEUNGHEE of K-pop girl group OH MY GIRL exposed past mistreatment by her agency.
On February 7, SEUNGHEE appeared as a guest on her group member MIMI's YouTube channel.
During their conversation, SEUNGHEE recalled debuting as a member of OH MY GIRL almost immediately after joining the company as a trainee.
However, she revealed, "Everyone in the company was against it except for the CEO. The director and the department head were opposed to it. If the CEO hadn't pushed for it, I may have not been able to make it."
MIMI recalled the tense atmosphere among trainees at the time, saying, "Back then, you were seen as our competition. We had been trainees for a long time, constantly hearing that we were going to debut, only for it to be postponed. Meanwhile, new trainees kept pouring in. Naturally, you became another competitor."
SEUNGHEE then playfully exposed her members, "It was obvious that you guys didn't like me at first. It was no joke. You made me redo everything you had done during their auditions!" and MIMI apologized with an awkward laugh.
After that, MIMI brought up a painful memory from their early debut days, saying, "Remember the first time our press photos were published? We were told off for many things then."
SEUNGHEE agreed, adding, "Yeah. I got yelled at just for standing in the center. I was getting told off from all directions."
She went on to reveal another incident, saying, "When we posed for photos before 'Music Bank' and other music show recordings, the company intentionally placed me and YOOA together to make YOOA stand out more. I only found out because someone from the company admitted it themselves."
Hearing this, MIMI was visibly upset and said, "They deserve to be called out for that. That must've been really tough on you."
SEUNGHEE, however, lightheartedly brushed it off, jokingly responding, "I felt like sxxt."
