Actor Lee Jung Jae shared his love for K-pop girl group BLACKPINK.
On January 15, Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun appeared on the popular YouTube channel "First We Feast" to promote Netflix's series "Squid Game 2" that has come out just three weeks ago.
In this video, the actors took turns asking each other questions, and if they could not answer, they had to eat spicy hot wings as a penalty.
Lee Byung Hun was the first to ask a question, challenging Lee Jung Jae to rank K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE in order of their likelihood to survive if they were in "Squid Game."
Lee Jung Jae ranked them as BLACKPINK, BTS, and TWICE, smiling shyly as he added, "I chose them according to who I personally like best."
In response, Lee Byung Hun joked, "Oh no, TWICE is going to feel so sad," making Lee Jung Jae burst out laughing.
Lee Jung Jae has previously mentioned being a fan of BLACKPINK, which makes his answer understandable.
Back in 2021 when the first season of "Squid Game" was release, Lee Jung Jae said, "My favorite video on Netflix is BLACKPINK's documentary 'Light Up the Sky.'"
He continued, "I didn't know this, but it turned out JENNIE and Jung Hoyeon are very close to each other. Not too long ago, JENNIE made a visit to our shooting site to see Jung Hoyeon. She sent her a snack truck then as well. At that time when I saw JENNIE, I was like, 'Oh my...! Wow, it's JENNIE!' It was really cool to see her in person."
Smiling, he added, "After watching 'Light Up the Sky', I thought to myself, 'That's amazing how they came to become BLACKPINK following such fierce competition. BLACKPINK is like no. 1 K-pop girl group right now. They worked so hard to get to where they are, and I was fascinated by that. That's how I become their fan."
