Hyeri of K-pop girl group Girl's Day shared an interesting reason why the head of her past agency chose her as a new member of Girl's Day.
On October 19 episode of tvN's television show 'You Quiz on the Block', Hyeri made a guest appearance.
During the talk, the host Yu Jae Seok asked if she often heard that she should make debut ever since she was little.
Hyeri answered, "Ah, no. They often told me that I was too loud, actually. Whenever there was a family gathering, I would sing and dance in front of my relatives. I didn't feel shy or nervous about that. It was more like something that I really wanted to do. I even waited for that moment to come."
She laughingly continued, "My relatives were kind of sick of watching me perform all the time. My grandma would tell me not to come out of the room. But now, they are so proud of me and what I have become."
After that, Hyeri was asked how she ended up entering this industry, which she said, "There was this girl that I met when I went to one contest. She was someone who went to lots of auditions."
The Girl's Day member went on, "One day, she asked me to company her to an audition, because she needed one more person to go with her. That audition was an audition for Girl's Day. I didn't do anything special at the audition; I just sang and danced. But I managed to pass it."
She went on, "Some time later, I asked the head of my agency why he gave me the opportunity to make debut as a member of Girl's Day instead of any other girls at the audition. He told me, 'It was because you had the tiniest face that I had ever seen in my life.'", then laughed.
Initially, Hyeri was not part of Girl's Day when the group debuted on July 9, 2010.
The two original members Jin and Jisun left Girl's Day after wrapping up promotions for their single 'How About Me?', that was released in the end of July the same year.
Then, Hyeri and Yura joined Girl's Day in October 2010.
