MINHYUK of K-pop boy group MONSTA X shared a reason why he believes he was a good son.

On the recent episode of NAVER NOW's audio show 'I Miss You Show' (literal translation), MINHYUK told a story from his past.

MINHYUK said, "I've never been a class president back when I was in school. I've only been a vice president. And that was all part of my plan."

The MONSTA X member explained, "It's because if you became a class president, you had to buy a burger to each student in the class, but a vice president could buy something cheaper for the classmates."

He went on, "There's not as much pressure that my parents get that way. You get what I mean, right? Yeah, that's why I purposely didn't become the class president. Always the vice president...!"

MINHYUK once again emphasized, "Honestly, I could've become the class president, but I only ran for the vice president."

With a big smile, he added, "Mother, are you watching me right now? I've always been a good son ever since when I was little."

In Korea, especially those years when MINHYUK was in school, it was a 'must' for the class president to buy food to his/her classmates following the election.

Usually, the class president bought them pizza, fried chicken or burgers; since there were about 30 students in the class back then, the class president's parents had to spend quite a lot of money at once.

The vice president generally bought no more than drinks or ice cream for the whole class.

Although MINHYUK jokingly said this, it certainly does show that he was a thoughtful and sweet son, who put his parents first before himself.
