[SBS Star] DARA Says, "When 2NE1 Disbanded, I Felt Like the Sky was Falling"

DARA of disbanded K-pop girl group 2NE1 shared what it felt like when the group disbanded.

On September 14 episode of MBC's talk show 'Radio Star', DARA made a guest appearance.

During the show, one of the hosts comedienne Ahn Young Mi asked DARA, "2NE1 was so popular, how did you feel when your group disbanded?"

To this, DARA confessed, "It literally felt like the sky was falling."

She explained, "The situation was not good. The agency at the time also thought that it would be difficult for the group to promote. But for the members, we wanted to keep going because we have our fans."

She added, "Also, during our seven years of promotion, we only had two full-length albums. Since we only have two, we thought about our fans."

DARA continued to explain, "I promoted as a member of 2NE1 for seven years, but over those years, I felt like I am just 2NE1 itself."

DARA also shared that after 2NE1's disbandment, she felt like she was "not allowed" to identify herself as 2NE1 even though that is what defined her for the past seven years.

She said, "The past few years after our disbandment were the darkest years for me."

Lastly, DARA confessed that it is her dream to make a 2NE1 reunion on stage, and that the other three members wish the same.

She shared, "We believe that there will be a time for us (to reunite), just like how Girls' Generation did recently."
