While talking about her group KARA's disbandment, Hur Young Ji said, "The first thing that sprang to my mind was 'What should I do?', not fear. I thought about the things that I could do on my own."

She added, "With the members, I felt like I could do anything since it felt like they were protecting me. But then, I was like, 'Can I do this alone?', 'Can I go up on the stage all by myself?'."

Hur Young Ji continued, "After we parted, I had a mental breakdown. I had a bulimia too. I ate like crazy. I've never felt full. I wanted to keep eating but I couldn't since I was living with my manager back then, and if I didn't watch my figure, she would've scolded me."

She continued, "So, what I did was, I ran to a convenience store in the rain without an umbrella and bought a tremendous amount of breads and snacks. And since I couldn't let my manager catch me eating stuff like that, I just put it in my mouth and melted it. I cried the whole time."

To a question, "If you could be born again, would you like to be an idol?", she hesitated for a while and replied, "I mean, now that I think about it, I was rather happy than miserable. But, I'm just worried that I might have to go through the same situation again."
