Im Siwan from K-pop boy group ZE:A noted that he is highly satisfied with his life in the army from a narrative on a military newspaper.
On June 21, Korea's military newspaper 'Kookbangilbo' released a narrative of Im Siwan. From the concise writing, Im Siwan expressed satisfaction with his time in the army.
According to the newspaper, he said, "At first when I entered the army in July last year, I was very confident in myself. I thought it would be fine as long as I work hard."
He continued, "With such loosened and cocky attitude, I had troubles from the first day in the army. Everything we take for granted in the society cannot be given here."
He reflected on the previous days and noted, "It was chaos. But now, I'm used to the environment."
From the narrative, Im Siwan seemed to have some changes in his perceptions as well. He introduced the notion of 'servant leadership' and said, "I am very confident to say that the army guarantees and considers the rights of each individual."
He highlighted, "The time when I was chastised and had struggles to adjust to the new environment was necessary. It triggered me to become a better person."
Im Siwan wrapped up, saying, "Now, I can finally see policies and systems, very rare to be in seen in the society."
The public responded to the writing, saying, "He's doing so well in the army!", "He looks so cute!", "We always wait for you!", and many more.
Im Siwan is currently serving his mandatory military duty as an active-duty soldier. He is expected to be discharged from the duty in April, 2019.
