Korean actress Lee Bo Young revealed that she was able to overcome struggles after childbirth due to her husband actor Ji Sung.
During an interview with one media outlet on March 15, Lee Bo Young talked about how she truly felt after giving birth to her daughter Ji-yoo in 2015.
Lee Bo Young said, "After giving birth, I got quite upset as people expected me to always take care of the baby, and they would tell my husband how amazing he was when he was holding the baby."
She continued, "I was mentally and physically very exhausted, and it even got to the point where I felt like I didn't love my own baby. I wondered why I didn't tear up just by looking at the baby like the scenes in movies."
However, Lee Bo Young said she realized that maternal love does not instantly come to you just because you gave birth to a baby, but it gradually builds in you while raising a child.
The actress said, when she was going through a difficult time, it was Ji Sung who gave her strength.
Ji Sung devoted himself to raising their daughter so that Lee Bo Young could return as an actress on screen as soon as possible.
At the end of the interview, she expressed gratitude to Ji Sung for being supportive of her and taking a good care of their daughter.
Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young got married in September 2013 after dating for about seven years, and they have a 2-year-old daughter.
