Former member of EXO Kris Wu opened up about the reason why he left EXO, and that he doesn't talk to EXO members anymore.
On December 4, Kris Wu made an appearance at an American radio talk show 'Wild 94.9' and had an interview with the program's DJ Gabby Diaz.
During his interview, Kris Wu revealed the reason why he decided to leave EXO and start his solo career.
He said, "First of all, I'm not Korean. I'm Chinese. So, Korea is not really a home for me, it's not my base. Working there was sometimes stressful for me."
Then he added, "It's because the way how K-pop works is that you have to do the kind of stuffs that the company tells you to do. Everyone has no freedom, and for me, it was super stressful because I wanted to do my own stuffs, making hip hop music that could represent me as an artist."
When DJ asked whether he still talks to EXO members, Wu simply inferred that he doesn't talk to them anymore.
After departing EXO in 2014, Kris Wu started his career as a solo artist based in China. He recently released a new track called 'B.M'.
