[SBS Star] So Jisub Says, "If It Wasn't for Kim Woo Bin, I Wouldn't Have Been Able to Finish Filming This Movie"
Actor So Jisub expressed his gratitude to actor Kim Woo Bin for being his great support while they were filming their new movie together. On June 23, a press conference for an upcoming sci-fi movie 'Alienoid' took place at one hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. During the press conference, So Jisub shared how uneasy filming 'Alienoid' was. So Jisub said, &'When I usually read a script, I can imagine the story in my head, but that was hard for 'Alienoid'. I kept asking myself, 'Is that really possible?' I couldn't see how it would turn out to look like in the movie.&' He resumed, &'But visual effects director Choi Dong-hoon directed me well. I had a storyboard that helped me as well. But I did feel quite lonely filming solely with the green screen all the time. Just as when I was about to get too lonely, Woo Bin joined me. I couldn't be happier.&' He continued, &'He usually filmed from an area far from me, and there were times when I didn't get to see him at all. Every time I saw him though, I got that energy to get through the shooting. I no longer felt lonely. If it wasn't for Woo Bin, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish filming this movie.&', then laughed. Upon hearing So Jisub's words, Kim Woo Bin burst out laughing and said, &'It was the same for me, actually.&' The actor went on, &'Before I joined Jisub's location, I was filming somewhere else by myself. I felt lonely there too. Whenever I saw Jisub from the distance, I could sense my mind going into this peaceful mode.&' He added, &'Jisub has broad shoulders, you know. Although he was far away from me most of the time, his broad shoulders made me feel like he was someone I could lean on if I ever needed to.&' Meanwhile, 'Alienoid' is expected to hit the theaters on July 20. [SBS Star] AB6IX JEON WOONG Shares a Hilarious Tip to Hang Up on Someone Without Hurting Them
JEON WOONG of K-pop boy group AB6IX shared a smart and hilarious tip to hang up on someone without hurting their feelings. Recently, JEON WOONG spent some time speaking to fans on the group's official fan community messenger. While they talked together, JEON WOONG saw one fan's message asking him, &'JEON WOONG, do you know a way to hang up on somebody without hurting them?&' To this, JEON WOONG said, &'Somebody asked me this question, and I know a way. Shall I share my tip with you? I use this tip like all the time.&' He said, &'All you've got to do is to say this in the air. 'Oh... Do I have to go in now? Okay, I'll be there in a minute!'&' It was to pretend like his staff unexpectedly told him that it was his turn for something, and he was responding to the staff. There was a major downside to this tip though―no fans had made debut like him that they cannot use it. The downside was explained by JEON WOONG himself as well, &'But you've got to make debut in order to use this tip.&' Upon reading this cleverly amazing but hilarious tip, fans could not stop laughing. They left comments such as, &'It's so funny imagining him doing that, but it's not very useful for us, I believe LOL.&', &'Thank you for the tip? LOL&', &'Okay, the only thing I've got to do is to make debut now!&', &'Haha here's another reason why I need to make debut!&' and so on. But they also laughingly worried that now that his tip was disclosed, he may not be able to use the tip anymore. [SBS Star] Rian·Gabee Say, "We Weren't Allowed to Use the Same Restroom as Singers Since We Were Dancers"
Dancers Rian and Gabee talked about the time when they were not allowed to use the same restroom as singers because they were dancers. On June 20 episode of MBN's television show 'A Vacation in Hotel Suites', Rian and Gabee featured as guests. While having a meal at a restaurant with actress So E Hyun, Rian shared how she started dancing. Rian said, &'I joined a dance club when I was in middle school, and performed at the school festival. After the performance, everybody told me how great I was, and I just couldn't forget the crowd cheering for me and my team when we performed. I fell completely in love with dancing then. From there, I got to where I am now.&' Gabee stated, &'It was the same for me. I became a dancer solely with that pure love for dance. I just knew I wanted to dance for a living. I didn't really think of money though. I was young, so I thought, 'I'm sure I'll make enough to buy food for myself.' That's how I ended up becoming a dancer, and thankfully a good opportunity has recently found us.&' Then, So E Hyun asked them if there were any difficulties they faced as dancers before they became known to the public. Rian answered, &'Lots, actually. There were lots of times when I felt upset because I was a dancer. When I went to perform for a singer before, I used to get told to use another restroom, because the restroom that I was about to go was only for singers, not for dancers. I thought that was kind of unfair.&' Gabee added, &'I've been there, too. They told me to go around and use the restroom really far away. It was like, 'We're humans like them. Why are they treating us like that?'&', then laughed, seeming like she can laugh about it now. Afterwards, So E Hyun commented, &'When I started gaining fame, I worried that the fame would disappear soon. It was too dream-like at first.&' Gabee nodded and responded, &'Yeah, that's exactly how I feel at the moment. I believe this all can even disappear tomorrow.&' Rian said, &'It's like that for me as well. Some people around me have said to me, 'How long do you really think dancers will be popular for?' Whenever I hear something like that, I try not to forget why I'm a dancer, and why I stepped into this world.&' Both Rian and Gabee have over 10 years of experience as dancers, but only recently started gaining attention from the public following their appearance in Mnet's survival show 'Street Woman Fighter'. After 'Street Woman Fighter' last year, a lot of talented but not famous dancers began to be in the spotlight, and more people learned about their job. It was previously revealed that the industry poorly treated dancers before 'Street Woman Fighter'. (Credit MBN A Vacation in Hotel Suites) (SBS Star)SBS 뉴스 | Lee Narin | 2022.06.22 | 방송/연예

There was an elderly woman with her children and grandchildren. They busily got off, and my friends and I got in.&' He went on, &'As they got off, one of the people, who seemed like the elderly woman's daughter, turned around and looked at me. She was like, 'Oh?!' in a surprised tone of voice. I think she recognized me. She tried to ask me, 'You are...!' But then the elderly woman quickly said to the daughter, 'Ah yes, it's him for sure. It's him!'&' He continued, &'Her grandchildren were like, 'Who is it?', because they didn't know me at all. The elderly woman told them, 'He's a famous guy! He's really famous. Don't you know him?', making the little kids got more curious.&' WOOYOUNG laughingly added, &'Then, she said to them with confidence, 'I can't believe you boys and girls don't know him. He's JUNHO of BIGBANG!'&' Upon finishing his story, WOOYOUNG burst into laughter, and commented, &'All this happened in that brief moment, you know. I'm not JUNHO nor a member of BIGBANG. I wonder what I was at that time!&' (Credit '2PM' YouTube) (SBS Star)SBS 뉴스 | Lee Narin | 2022.06.20 | 방송/연예
[SBS Star] Lee Jung Shin Thanks JUNHO·Yoona for Breaking the Preconceived Notion About K-pop Stars Acting
K-pop boy band CNBLUE's bassist Lee Jung Shin expressed gratitude to JUNHO of boy group 2PM and Yoona of girl group Girls' Generation for breaking the preconceived notion about K-pop stars who act. On June 10, Lee Jung Shin met some reporters for an interview after wrapping up his drama 'Shooting Stars'. During the interview, Lee Jung Shin answered a question asking what it is like to go back and forth being a K-pop star and actor. Lee Jung Shin said, &'Although CNBLUE is unable to release as many albums and promote together like the old times, we have the same thought on how we want to balance the two jobs―we all want to focus on our individual activities while keeping our team.&' He resumed, &'I'm currently more focused on acting, and I wanted to let more people know that I was acting through 'Shooting Stars'. I have a stronger desire to step further and higher as an actor right now.&' Then, Lee Jung Shin was asked, &'Is there still a negative preconceived notion about K-pop stars who turned to acting within the industry like the past? I assume that it's not as negative as before; in fact, quite positive nowadays.&' Lee Jung Shin answered, &'Ah yes, I mean, it's still there. But it's become much more positive than before. I believe it depends on how well I act. I'm a bit careful to comment on this matter, because I'm nowhere near successful as an actor.&' The CNBLUE's bassist/actor continued, &'But... It's all thanks to many great actors/actresses who are also in the K-pop world. They broke that preconceived notion. I believe JUNHO and Yoona played a huge role in doing that. So, I thank them a lot for that.&' He carried on speaking about it, &'I even think some producers like K-pop star-turned-actors/actresses more, as we have our own strengths. For instance, if that person was the lead dancer, then he/she can pull off action scenes well. Lastly, he added, &'I'll certainly work harder to reach that point where the producers are easily able to spot my strengths like that. I know it's still a long way to go for me, but I hope luck will find me with a good project one day.&' (Credit 'yoona__lim' 'le2jh' 'leejungshin91' Instagram) (SBS Star)SBS 뉴스 | Lee Narin | 2022.06.15 | 방송/연예
[SBS Star] One Casting Director Tries to Cast 3 EPEX Members as Potential Actors in a Coffee Shop
One casting director said to have asked three members of K-pop boy group EPEX―BAEKSEUNG, MU and WISH whether they want to make debut as actors when they were in a coffee shop. On June 14, WISH took to the group's official fan messenger to tell fans an intriguing story. WISH said, &'I was with BAEKSEUNG and MU today. We went to a coffee shop together, and something completely unexpected happened there.&' The leader of EPEX continued, &'We got approached by a casting director. We were so surprised. The casting director gave us a business card, and asked if we were interested in entering the acting industry as actors.&' He went on, &'He/she first asked us, 'Would it be alright if you guys told me what you do?' So, I was going to just tell him/her that we were trainees. But BAEKSEUNG told the casting director who we really were. BAEKSEUNG told him/her that we were the members of EPEX.&' He resumed, &'But it didn't seem like he/she knew EPEX at all. So, BAEKSEUNG continued to explain who we were by letting him/her know who were in the group, who were our labelmates and so on.&' WISH laughingly added, &'It was such a cool experience, because I haven't had this sort of experience after debut.&' It seemed like the casting director approached them, and hoped they joined the agency he/she worked for to debut them as actors, without knowing that they were K-pop stars. BAEKSEUNG, MU and WISH are the three tallest members of the group; BAEKSEUNG is 186cm (6.1ft), WISH and MU are 184cm (6ft). As they are all also very good-looking that they most certainly stood out among the coffee shop customers. It was not too surprising that they caught the eye of the casting director in the coffee shop. EPEX is a 8-member group that made debut in June last year under C9 Entertainment, where K-pop acts such as CIX, cignature, YOUNHA, Lee Seok Hoon and more belong. [SBS Star] Dancer Gabee Tears Up as She Thinks Back to the Past When All Dancers Waited in the Cold Hallway
Dancer Gabee teared up while speaking about the past when all dancers waited in the cold hallway prior to their performance. On June 13 episode of MBN's television show 'A Vacation in Hotel Suites' (literal translation), Gabee made a guest appearance. While having a conversation, the hosts asked the two dancers what the hardest part of being a dancer is. Gabee answered, &'I think it's that there is no answer to what we do. There is no specific path that we should take to succeed.&' In fact, Gabee has over 10 years of experience in this field, but only recently started gaining attention from the public following her appearance in Mnet's survival show 'Street Woman Fighter'. After 'Street Woman Fighter' last year, a lot of talented but not famous dancers began to be in the spotlight, and more people learned about their job. K-pop artist SOYOU commented, &'Yeah, it used to be that the industry didn't treat dancers well before 'Street Woman Fighter'. As for SISTAR, our managers would pick us up and drive us to the place where we had to be. Then, our stylists would do our make-up and hair on site.&' She continued, &'But dancers had to come in much earlier than us, because they had to do their make-up and hair themselves. Also, they had to come from home and go back home by themselves before and after their performance. It seemed hard.&' Then, singer Son Dam Bi stated, &'I made debut in 2006, and back then, it was even worse. There wasn't a waiting area for dancers. Dancers would wait for their performance in the cold hallway.&' In response to this, Gabee said, &'It was like that until recently. That was something that made me feel the saddest as a dancer.&' As she spoke, her voice trembled and she ended up tearing up, as she thought back to those difficult times. [SBS Star] Mijoo Shows Sadness About Always Dancing at the Back During Lovelyz's 'Ah-Choo' Performances
Mijoo of disbanded K-pop girl group Lovelyz expressed sadness about the time when she was always at the back of her group members. On June 11 episode of MBC's television show 'Hangout with Yoo', Mijoo mentioned the time as a member of Lovelyz. On this day, the members of project group WSG Wannabe watched different K-pop performances to pick a song to perform together. While watching 'Wonderful love' performance by girl group MOMOLAND, Kim Sook commented, &'Wow, I feel like all girl group members are great at making a pose at the end. Their ending poses are so eye-catching.&' Since Mijoo used to be a girl group member, she shared how the ending poses worked. Mijoo said, &'I made a different ending pose for each of our performance for 'Ah-Choo'. In early debut days, I had to make poses that could potentially make the viewers' hearts flutter. I usually made an L with my fingers, then place it over my lips.&' After that, the production team played Lovelyz's 'Ah-Choo' performance to them. But since they could not spot Mijoo easily throughout the performance, they asked her questions like, &'Where are you? We can't see you at all.&', &'It is because the cameraman is too far from you or something?&', &'Why aren't you there?&' and more. To this, Mijoo pulled a sad face and commented, &'I've always been at the back during 'Ah-Choo' performances. I only had one line to sing for that song, so...&' &'Ahh... That's why I root for you even more than I should.&', HAHA responded. Then, the production team showed them a compilation video of Mijoo making cute, sexy, happy and more ending poses, which made Mijoo blushed in embarrassment. As Yu Jae Seok watched this, he playfully said, &'I can't stop laughing! It's making me want to throw up!&', making Mijoo feel more embarrassed. Following Lovelyz's contract expiration with management agency Woollim Entertainment last year, the group officially disbanded. The members of Lovelyz parted ways and each joined a different one following that. Recently, Mijoo has been gaining a lot of attention with her 'crazy but cute' talks and actions on television shows.
